### Creating a Synthetic Filesystem Backup Destination

1. Go to **Backup Destinations → File System**.
2. Click **Create Backup Destination → File System (Synthetic)**.
3. Configure the destination as described for a regular filesystem backup destination.
4. Select **XFS** as the **Storage Backend**.
5. Specify the destination path and save the configuration.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Important:** The destination path must reside on an XFS filesystem. Selecting **XFS** as the storage backend does not format or convert the underlying filesystem.
{% endhint %}
