# Installation

Follow the instructions in this section after you have verified [Component Requirements](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/component-requirements.md), [Sizing Guide](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/sizing.md), and the appropriate section of the platform to be protected:

* [Virtual Environments](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/protecting-virtual-machines.md) (especially here, where a node sometimes needs to be installed within the protected environment)
* [Applications](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/protecting-applications/applications.md)
* [Storage Providers](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/protecting-storage-providers/storage-providers.md)
* [Filesystems with OS Agent](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/os-agents.md)

Then proceed with the installation. You can deploy Storware Backup and Recovery using one of the following methods

* [ISO-based installation](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/installation/iso-based-installation.md) (recommended) - the ISO image can be used to boot a virtual machine from it in order to install CentOS 9 Stream with the Storware Backup & Recovery application.
* [Quick installation using all-in-one script](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/installation/quick-install-all-in-one.md) (recommended) - to quickly deploy server and node on a single host with the compliant OS. This script also allows to deploy just the server or individual nodes
* [Installation using Ansible playbook](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/installation/installation-using-ansible-playbook.md) - you can install the complete Storware Backup & Recovery solution using the roles available on Ansible Galaxy. This approach also supports multinode deployments and also reusing roles in your playbooks.
* [Installation with RPMs](/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/installation/installation-with-rpms.md) - to deploy the server and node from scratch

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.storware.eu/backup-and-recovery-7.4/deployment/installation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
