Storware Backup and Recovery 7.2

Zadara zCompute support (technical preview)

Zadara zCompute is an elastic cloud compute service designed for scalability, security, and flexibility. It allows businesses to run workloads on-demand, whether in the cloud, on-premises, or in hybrid environments, paying only for the resources they use. zCompute ensures high availability and performance while simplifying cloud operations. Storware Backup and Recovery presents the technical preview support for Zadara zCompute, including generic incremental backup capabilities.

Secondary backup destination (backup copy) for OS Agent

The backup copy is an additional instance of a backup stored separately from the primary backup. This feature enhances data protection by ensuring redundancy and resilience against data loss. OS Agent backup policies now support secondary backup destinations, ensuring even greater data resilience.

ZFS backup destination support

ZFS (Zettabyte File System) is a modern file system and volume manager developed by Sun Microsystems. It is known for its high resilience, automatic error correction, and support for massive storage capacities. ZFS offers advanced features such as snapshots, deduplication, compression, and flexible storage management. Storware Backup and Recovery supports ZFS as a synthetic backup destination from this release. Take advantage of ZFS deduplication and snapshot capabilities for efficient synthetic backup storage.

Enhanced Filtering & Insights

Enjoy advanced filtering options in list views and gain deeper insights into backup attempts, particularly when using the retry option.

Optimized Tape Management

Multiple improvements, including performance enhancements and reliability fixes, make tape handling smoother than ever.

Improved Reporting & Monitoring

Grouped backup retries ensure only the final backup status is included in email reports and dashboards.

Removed support for KVM

Starting with this release, standalone KVM environments are no longer supported. Existing configurations will continue to function as expected, but the addition of new standalone KVM instances is now disabled.

Removed support for Huawei Fusion Compute

Starting with this release, Huawei Fusion Compute environments are no longer supported. Existing configurations will continue to function as expected, but the addition of new Huawei Fusion Compute instances is now disabled.
