# Create a Backup SLA

To create a new backup policy, please open the Backup SLAs tab under the Endpoints section and click on the **Create** button on the right.

Enter the name of the new policy in the **Name** field, and configure the policy according to your requirements.

Save the policy by clicking the **Save** button at the bottom of the page when finished.

Once you finished the policy configuration, you have to [assign users](https://docs.storware.eu/70/administration/endpoints/organization-admin/backup-sla-management#assign-users-to-a-policy) to the policy.

Each Backup SLA policy consists of the following configuration tabs:

[**GENERAL**](https://docs.storware.eu/70/administration/endpoints/organization-admin/backup-sla/create-a-new-backup-sla/general) **-** general settings for the whole policy

[**WINDOWS**](https://docs.storware.eu/70/administration/endpoints/organization-admin/backup-sla/create-a-new-backup-sla/windows) **-** data protection settings for Windows clients

[**MAC OS (technical preview)**](https://docs.storware.eu/70/administration/endpoints/organization-admin/backup-sla/create-a-new-backup-sla/mac-os-technical-preview) **-** data protection settings for macOS clients

[**EMAIL CLIENTS**](https://docs.storware.eu/70/administration/endpoints/organization-admin/backup-sla/create-a-new-backup-sla/email-clients) **-** data protection settings for MS Outlook and IBM Notes e-mail clients
